What is Behavior Support in Schools?

What is Behavior Support in Schools?

Behavior support in school focuses on helping children succeed in their learning environment by addressing behaviors that may impact learning. While it uses many of the same strategies as ABA services, its primary goal is different. School-based behavior support is designed to help a child access their education with fewer barriers, build skills that support learning, and participate more fully in the classroom.

Understanding IEPs

Understanding IEPs

An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a customized plan designed to support students who need specialized instruction or services to succeed in school. Developed collaboratively by caregivers, teachers, and school specialists, an IEP outlines your child’s learning goals and the supports needed to achieve them — which can include behavioral goals and one-on-one assistance.

IEPs ensure your child receives the right help, in the right setting, so they can grow academically, socially, and emotionally at school.
